Blue Ridge Rescue Barn was founded in 2023 with the mission of providing a sanctuary for farm animals that prioritizes their emotional and physical health and well being.

We envision a world where animals are treated with compassion and respect, and allowed to live full lives free of cruelty.

Rescue

At Blue Ridge Rescue Barn, we rescue farm animals confronting abuse, abandonment, neglect, and special needs. Here, they learn that they are safe and loved. We meet each resident where they are and work to build a bond based on trust and respect. We also believe in supporting others doing this lifesaving work. The needs are so great for animals in our area, and we know that by working together we will make the greatest impact. Many of our residents have come from local rescues who were over capacity or under resourced.
Educate

We firmly believe in our ability to not only nurture animals, but also make a significant impact on the lives of those who interact with them. At Blue Ridge Rescue Barn, we are dedicated to educating the community about the unique and wonderful qualities of each resident. We know that through first hand experiences shared with these incredible and often underestimated animals, the community will come to love and appreciate them as we do. We are hopeful that we can inspire others to join us in advocating for their welfare.

While watching videos online provides accurate and important insight, encountering our resident "ambassadors" in person is truly eye-opening. Every one of our residents is a survivor, and these animals serve as living testaments to resilience and hope. Creating Change for Farm Animals

Farm animals are often overlooked in the broader conversation about animal welfare. In fact, according to Last Chance for Animals, 97% of the 10 billion animals tortured and killed each year are farm animals.
